iOS 5.2.1 and Windows 4.2 Update
The release notes on iOS 5.2.1 says to make sure to update my Windows version to 4.2 because these two versions don't like to be kept apart. I would like a bit more detail on what exactly that means. Is there a specific order I should do this? First update to 4.2 then 5.2.1? Or the other way? Or do I need to coordinate a simultaneous update for both. For me, that would be two PCs, my iPhone and iPad. I need to better understand the dependencies here. I don't want to have any upgrade issues if I can avoid them.

Hi @Rob 1234 ,
The reason to update both is that there are some sync issues resolved on both sides. You may not have ever experienced these sync issues. Most have not. The order is not strictly necessary (if it was, the app would take steps to prevent syncing until everything was up-to-date), but this is how I would do it:
- Make a backup on one of the PCs.
- Quit the iOS apps.
- Quit one of the PC apps.
- Run the PC updater on both PCs.
- Run the iOS updates on all devices.
Again, this procedure is not set in stone. If you do it in another order, it should be ok.

Thanks for update. I don't normally worry too much about the sequence, but I saw the note about keeping things the same. And I had some less-than-perfect update experiences before, so I am trying to do what I can to keep them smooth. I'll give that a try.
