Syncing issues after a reinstall of 1password

I recently had to reinstall OS X. Prior to doing that 1Password was set up to sync with Dropbox on my Mac and iOS devices. After the reinstall of OS X and 1Password it detected that there was some data on iCloud and imported that data. I used to use iCloud to synch a long time ago but stopped using it. Now when I try to sync with Dropbox 1Password wants to merge the data in both vaults. How can I just sync with Dropbox as thats where my most recent data is.

    Hi @blawn,

If your 1Password data in iCloud is just an older/out of data version of your current 1Password vault, then it should be ok to merge the vaults, because that should keep the newer version of each item in your vault.

However, there are other ways to go about doing this without needing to worry about merging with an older vault. The most straightforward method would be to follow our Starting Over steps on your Mac. That will allow you to reset 1Password on your Mac. After following those steps, when you open 1Password it should be like the first time, and you should be able to select "I've used 1Password before" and then choose to sync your vault from Dropbox.

Hopefully that gets things straightened out for you, but if you have questions or run into any trouble with that, just let us know. Thanks!
