Vault copy

I sync the Primary vault with iCloud but since I want the security of ANYWHERE, I have to create another vault to sync with Dropbox.
This way, I have to copy one by one every item in my Primary to my other vault.

Is there a better way to do this like copy the whole content of a vault to another, or have I missed something in the User's guide?

Hi @Rley002,

So you want to keep a copy of your primary vault in both iCloud and Dropbox. If you're positive this is what you want to do then I'd say the easiest way I can think of is as you suspect, a secondary vault synced to Dropbox and your primary synced to iCloud. Then every so often you would select the entire contents of your primary vault and copy them to the secondary.

The one aspect I'm not sure about is what you hope to gain. Are you concerned about the possibility of both your Mac and iCloud being unavailable at the same time? Are you just wanting Dropbox to hold a copy of your vault as an extra layer of backup? If you are I'm sure we can come up with a system where you keep copies of a couple of recent vault backups in Dropbox. 1Password creates backups on a as required basis, daily depending on how much your vault changes over time. That way you don't need a secondary vault.

Many thanks for the clarity of your comments, but please tell me how to select the entire contents of a primary vault to be copied on a secondary vault.
Do I have to proceed separately for each item?

Hi @Rley002,

To copy all your items from the Primary vault to a secondary vault:

• Open 1Password and make sure you're in the Primary vault.
• Click on All Items in the left sidebar.
• Click on one of the items in the list, then go to Edit > Select All (this should highlight all the items in the list).
• Go to the menu for Item > Share > [secondary vault name] > Copy.

Once you do that, all the items in the secondary vault should be up-to-date copies of the items in your Primary vault. I hope that helps, but let us know if you have more questions! :)
