Online Banking

I have a Pin Number and a password for my online banking. The pin is four numbers and the password is 8 characters. When I go online to the bank, before I installed 1Password, I had to log in using 2 numbers of my pin and 3 characters from my password (the banks choice of which of each). How do I use this on 1Password. Before I put this behind 1Password protection, 1Password asks for my login details. Not sure what to do now as every time I log into my bank it asks for different characters of my pin and password

You can't automate that sort of random type login so all you can really do is to store the PIN and password in 1P. Personally, with passwords like that I tend to store them in a notes field, spaced out with sequential numbers under each letter so I can see at a glance which letter equates to which number. I appreciate you may not need to do that with an eight letter password but it's certainly a help when you have to choose random letters from a longer one.

Thanks Stephen, no problem. Thanks for the info. I will not concern myself after all it will be the only one password outside the 1Password protection, leaving me just 2 passwords to remember "Bank and 1Password"

    Hi @Jacko,

As Stephen explained, 1Password won't be able to fill that information on your bank's website if the characters you need to enter there are different each time. However, you don't need to memorize your password and PIN for that site - you can still store that in 1Password. From the main 1Password app, simply create a new Login item and enter the information there. You can look up that information in 1Password when you need to log into that site.

If you have more questions or need anything else, we're always glad to help! :)
