Upgraded from v. 3.8 to v. 5, now both versions in 'Applications' folder - mistake?

Did I install incorrectly? I didn't expect to have both versions of 1Password (I was prompted by the app to upgrade directly from agilebits).

    I don't think installing version 5 does delete version 3. After you are sure you have all of your data safely in the new version, you can delete version 3. Follow these directions. They are for moving to version 4, but they will apply to version 5 as well.

    Edit: I would judge that this, from the Knowedge Base, is the most important part.
