What does the Safari Extension Offer?

How is the extension any different than what Safari already offers?

    Hi @SteveDC,

    The extension is how our main application 1Password communicates with Safari. Without the extension you can't easily fill in login pages or use your Identity and Credit Card items with a couple of keypresses/mouse clicks. Of course you're free to use copy and paste but rather than jumping backwards and forwards you can select a Login item, Identity or Credit Card and have 1Password pass the information to the extension and the extension fill in the required fields on the page.

    For a while Safari didn't attempt to store login credentials (if memory serves me correctly). It does now but if you use non-Apple hardware with 1Password we have the advantage, you can sync you vault over Apple, Windows and Android and use our extension to fill the same Login item on all of those. I also prefer not having my passwords stored in the keychain for a few reasons.

    Now of course I may be misunderstanding the question. If I am please do correct me and I or another team member will do our best to answer :smile:
