I copied and loaded 1Password on my new mac from my old one. 1Password will not activate. Two things i notice, One, when going to App Store OPEN is available but 1Password will not open for use and two i get an error which says "1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini. Please restart 1Password. If this does not help. please contact AgileBits support." I can's get 1Password to start at all. I expected 1Password to work on new computer by downloading my vault from the iCloud. Can you please provide advice. Thanks John

Copying a program from one machine to another isn't really advisable. Some component may easily not be copied.

Re-installing or using Migration Assistant are much safer, and should work.

Myself (but I am just an interested user, you may prefer to wait for a response from the Agile people) I would do the following.

1.Delete the copied version (after all, you can always copy it again), empty the trash, and restart.

    1. Log in to the App Store, and see if it now says "Download" rather than "Open". If it does, download it and it should run. If it does, you will get asked if you have used 1PW before. Say "Yes" and point at the iCloud vault.

    Hi @JTR,

I moved your message to a new thread, since you're having a different problem than the other discussion.

The suggestion from @danco is exactly what you'll need to do. It sounds like you purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store, so you'll need to delete the app you copied from your old Mac (and remember to empty the Trash), then re-download it from the Mac App Store.

If you need more help with that, please let us know. Thanks!
