Syncing via Wi-Fi between two Macs and an iPhone
I’m using 1Password version #:
Mac App StoreOn a (Mac/PC/iOS/Android):
- Syncing with: iphone:
1Password Version 5.1 (510027) on MAC synching with iphone 5 iOS8.2
I update passwords on MB1 at same time updating different records on the MB2. I can not get all records to synch using Wifi anymore.
It used to work. Now its as if the iphone can only have a relationship with one macbook at a time.
The iPhone can only talk to one at a time. It cannot broker which of the updates is correct.
Seems like I will have to manually get all the records on one machine updated, delete everythiing on the other, and using one machine as a READ only machine. Does that seem to jive with what others experience?

Hi @amchiou,
I've seen one or two threads like this before but I am still a little confused. 1Password has never officially supported using an iOS device as a bridge for Wi-Fi Sync between two Macs and for as long as I can remember with 1Password 4, you've always had to disable Wi-Fi Sync with one and re-enable it with the other, it's never been some sort of seamless, automated transition.
While it was and indeed is still possible, it has been pointed out by one of the devs that when you disable Wi-Fi Sync in 1Password for iOS it throws away sync history data and this has always been the case. For this reason they don't recommend it as each time it's like you're setting up sync for the first time; the Mac and iOS device have to make no assumptions about these two vaults as they might consist of completely separate information.
If you prefer not to use a cloud service we would recommend a combination of Folder Sync with Wi-Fi Sync. Folder Sync was actually designed with pen drives in mind and so you could simply update the the two Macs by moving a pen drive between the two. You can use a networked share if you wish but you would want to use a 3rd party sync tool such as rsync or ChronoSync and this is left for the advanced users.
Does that help at all? If you have any follow up questions do please ask.
