Recovering from lost password on Mac

Hi. I have 1Password v5.3 on my iPhone and version 5.1 Mac. Forgot the master password for Mac, but remember it iphone and can access the contents. Set up to sync in Dropbox. How do erase data from Mac 1Password version (including the forgotten Master Password), then repopulate the Mac 1Password from the iPhone?.

    Hi @jonpowell,

    Sorry to hear you forgot your Master Password. But you've pretty much got a best-case scenario, since your data is synced in Dropbox and you can still access everything on your iPhone in the meantime, so that's great.

    This starting over guide should help you out. Follow the steps there, and after you reboot and launch 1Password again as if for the first time, click "I'm new to 1Password" to create a new vault with a new Master Password.

    Then you can set up Dropbox sync to sync it with your existing vault, and you should be good to go! :)
