Update passwords from correct Mac

I have more than one Mac. How can I sync to make sure that the updated information on one Mac is synced to all, rather than from the outdated Mac, which would also be included in the sync.

Simplest would be to set up Dropbox and use Dropbox sync. There are other methods.

    Hi @Carol,

We rely on timestamps after the first initial sync has taken place and if we ever are unsure we keep both sets of data and leave it to the user to decide. So once the first sync is over you shouldn't have any issues.

Now if one machine is full of obsolete data and you're worried about any possible mess then one option is to blow away the old data. If you start with a fresh copy of 1Password it only has one option, to download the vault from the sync source. So if you're concerned that the data is so different that at best you may end up with hundreds of conflicts to manually deal with and all you really want to do is push the vault from one Mac to the other we can help with that too.

Here's our page on Syncing your 1Password data but if you'd like to know more about pushing the vault from one computer to a clean copy of 1Password on another just let us know and we'll point you in the right direction
