Crash when switching vault and then unlocking non-default vault
I've had this issue for a while but I thought it would eventually go away. This only seems to happen via the browser extensions, and I've had the issue in both Chrome and Firefox. Here's what I do:
cmd + \
cmd + 3 to switch vault
input the correct password
The unlock animation completes, but the "Search x Vault" text never appears in the search bar and then it disappears. Performing the same action again does not crash and correctly unlocks the vault. This seems to be a time issue, or maybe related to the vault locking and then being unlocked. I've not figured out a pattern yet. I don't think it's ever crashed after unlocking the default vault.
I've put the crash report on pastebin. Some directory names have been altered but the information is still there. If any more information is needed let me know.

Hi @JosephDuffy ,
Thanks so much for bringing this issue to our attention! I'm sorry that you're having trouble with the extension. I've done some testing here, and so far I've been unable to re-create the crash. Could I get just a bit more detail from you here?
- What is the version number of 1Password that you have installed?
- What is the version number of your operating system?
- What is the version number of your browser?
- What is the version number of your browser extension? (This can normally be found in the browser’s preferences, in the ‘extensions’ pane.)
The more detail you can provide, the more quickly we'll be able to get you sorted out! :)

1Password 5.3.BETA-31, but this also happens on whatever the stable version of 5.2 is
OS X 10.10.3, but has also happened on stable 10.10.2
Chrome 41.0.2272.118 (64-bit) - Extension 4.3.1.90
Firefox Developer Edition 39.0a2 - Extension 4.4.0.b4I'll try to get the crash to trigger when using Safari but it doesn't happen every time.

Hi @JosephDuffy,
The developers are curious and they definitely want to get this resolved but this is easiest done if we can reproduce and we can supply them with a set of steps to do so.
Here is what I tried and with what versions.
- 1Password 5.4.BETA-2
- Firefox 37.0.1 + 1Password Firefox extension 4.4.0.b4
- Switch to 1Password and locked the vault using using the keyboard shortcut
⌃⌥⌘L
. - Switched to Firefox and opened up the Amazon login page (as I knew all vaults had a Login item for it).
- I used the keyboard shortcut
⌘\
and it brought up the locked view for the Primary vault. - I used
⌘2
or⌘3
to switch to other vaults and used their respective password to unlock.
I repeated this a number of times, locking everything in between and alternating between the second and third vault. Now I couldn't replicate a crash so I'd just like to confirm that using those exact steps you can. You may or may not be amazed at what can contribute to a crash. We had one where the location of the cursor was involved so you can imagine how long it took to identify the precise sequence required to reproduce that crash. That's why I just want to ensure we've pinned done the steps required.

@littlebobbytables I have just recorded a video of it happening, but I'm going to have to edit it a bit. I'll go over what I did:
- Chrome 41.0.2272.118 (64-bit), extension 4.3.1.90
- 1Password 5.3.BETA-31
- Opened iTunes Connect login page, something I know I have logins for in all vaults and didn't mind showing the page after the login/the email.
- Used
⌘\
to open up the 1Password mini login, which showed my primary vault - Used
⌘3
to switch to my 3rd vault - Entered the correct password for the vault
- Animation happens, search placeholder text does not load, 1Password mini crashes
In case it helps, I submitted the crash report and put a (hopefully) unique id in the description:
1234qwerty___
. I was under pressure while recording so it's not very original :) I don't know if you can search by these descriptions though.I'll work on the video a bit, or try and record a better one. Is there someone I can DM a link to the video? I'm happy to work as close as required with anyone that needs the help, minus sending my vault over :) As I've mentioned, I've never managed to find a solid pattern in the crash. I've just tried closing the 1Password Mini app, re-opening it and then doing the above steps, and it does not crash. The only thing I can think is that it happens after a certain period of time. I'll try some other stuff, like sleep/wake, restart, etc. and get back to you if I can find a consistent way of crashing.

Thanks for looking into this @JosephDuffy. Unfortunately we can't search by crash description. Could you email me (rick@agilebits.com) the email address you used to submit the crash log? Also include a link to this thread in the email so that I don't need to wonder why I'm getting emailed an email address. :)

Thanks for that, @JosephDuffy. I was able to find your crash report, and find the bug associated with it (OPM-2909). Thanks for the steps, we'll see if we're able to reproduce and fix that here.
