Concerned about syncing my iphone 6 from an imac

Hi @DoggyDan,
Each Mac and iOS device will have their own Primary Vault. It's a local thing, which vault to show by default when unlocking the device with the Master Password.
To relieve concerns, before we proceed to doing anything, you should use the option to create a backup under Settings > Advanced on the iPhone, and Preferences > Backups on the Mac. This way if something goes wrong, we can simply restore from the backups and things will be fine.
If these two devices have never synced before, then syncing them together should not cause any passwords to overwrite one another. What you would end up with is both passwords (two items for every item that exists on both devices).
If you don't care at all about the data on the iPhone, then using the option to Erase Data & Settings under 1Password's Settings > Advanced would be an option. Then you would be sure that you're only going to end up with the Mac's data on the iPhone after the sync.
I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please let us know.
