Generated passwords auto saved in passwords category

Hi,

when I generate a password with 1password mini, a copy of the password will automatically be saved to the 'passwords' category in 1password.
I don't want to have them there, because it's flooding this category with unwanted passwords I generated for customers.
How can I disable the auto save of these generated passwords?

I think it's much better not to disable that feature (in fact you can't do that). The reason is that the Passwords category saves generated passwords not linked to a specific saved login—so it's a sort of safety net. (You might generate a password for a site and not save it properly—but should always be able to find it in that category.)

What you can do is to go to 1P > Help > Tools > Remove Redundant Generated Passwords which will clear out from the Passwords category any items that are duplicated in saved logins.

Wouldn't it be better than to add a category called 'Generated passwords'. Because mixing generated password with self saved passwords is a bit messy I think.
I use the 'Passwords' category for offline credentials like PC logins etc.

    Hi @Stinson,

Thanks so much for the feedback! In 1Password 3, our Passwords category was called 'Generated Passwords', but we simplified things with 1Password 4 (and 5) to make the category useful for more than just generated passwords. As Stephen mentions, you can use the Help > Tools > Remove Redundantly Generated Passwords option to get rid of any passwords that have already been saved as Logins.

I hope this helps, but we're here if you have any further questions.
