Not Synching and Confusion
Hello,
1PW:
1Password
Version 5.3 (530029)
Mac App Store
I'm using a Mac with OS 10.10.3 and iPhone/iPod Touch with iOS 8.3.
I've had no problem with 1PW up until now. I suspect it has to do with some 1PW update. My iOS devices have 1PW v5.3 installed.
It appears 1PW is no longer synching to my iOS devices. When I look at Preferences I see "Synch Primary Vault with None" and "Last synched: 19 days ago"
I don't understand what this means. It was synching, now for the last 19 days its not. If I tell it to start synching anew with iCloud I get the following.
Dialog: Disabling Synch "1PW will no longer sync Primary vault with the folder." and an option to "Delete data from the folder"
This a rather cryptic dialog, eh? No longer synch with what folder? Plus, according to the previous dialog the Primary vault isn't being synch at all! It says "None". So, how can I be disabling synch when it says there is no synch?
I'd attach screen shots of the dialogs, but evidently that isn't possible.
So, not withstanding the illogic of the flow as show above, what happens if I disable synch with the "folder" and the data is deleted? Will all my PWs, etc. be gone?
How do I re-start synch to iCloud that used to work prior to the version update?
Thanks you.
Sincerely,
Mark

Hi @canoe,
That's definitely very strange! Like you said, if your Primary vault is not currently syncing at all (i.e. set to None in the sync settings) then it doesn't make sense that re-enabling iCloud sync would give you a message about disabling Folder sync. Is there any chance you have the Folder sync option enabled for your Primary vault, and the folder just happens to be named "None"? If so, that would explain why that's happening (although in that case, it would say "Sync Primary Vault with Folder" regardless of the folder name).
At any rate, even though I'm not sure why that's happening, you should still be able to switch back to iCloud sync. When you see the "Disabling Sync" dialog, you can leave the "Delete data from..." option un-checked, and just click the Disable Sync button. Or, if you use the option to delete the data, that will only delete the sync data from whatever folder it is currently syncing with - your 1Password vault (which is separate from the sync data) will be unaffected.
If you'd like to post a screenshot of your sync settings so we can see what's going on there, you should be able to do that now. In your reply, simply click the document button in the top of the comment field, and select the file you wish to share:
Let us know how it goes, thanks!

Hi @canoe,
Certainly looks and sounds like you've hit a bug there. If you'd like us to look into the bug to see if we can determine what's going on, could you please send us a Diagnostics Report? Doing so is easy and just requires that you follow the steps on this page. Email it to support+forums@agilebits.com. Include a link to this thread so that we know what to look for in there.
If you'd just like to get back up and running... you can click Disable Sync without any worries. You can then set it up with iCloud again and things should sync fine.
Let us know how that goes.
Rick
