Difference between Mac App Store and Website Download?

Hello there!
Is there a significant difference between the Mac App Store Download and a purchase right here from the online store?
I am not sure which one to get (Mac App Store is more convenient, but if there is a downside I would buy 1 Password from here).

Great question, I'm glad you asked! We actually have information to help you decide in this knowledgebase article: Should I buy 1Password from the AgileBits Store or the Mac App Store?

In short, the main difference is that the iCloud sync feature is only available in the Mac App Store version (both versions have Dropbox, Wi-Fi, and Folder Sync options). Otherwise, there are only very minor differences, so it's mostly a matter of personal preference.

A few advantages of buying direct from Agile.

1) If there is a paid update at some time in the future, Agile can offer a discount to people who have bought the earlier version from them. At present, Apple have no mechanism for doing this in the App Store.

2) The version from Agile is a 30-day trial only requiring payment after that. The App Store does not allow trials. It is possible, with a little effort, though, to try from Agile and finally buy from the App Store.

3) And don't forget that Apple takes a large cut of the price you pay. You may feel like giving Agile the benefit of the full price.

4) If there are several users in the household, it is slightly easier to make the purchase work for all of you if you by direct from Agile.
