Optimize database removes manually created custom email field
Funny thing I just noticed in 1Password for Mac 5.
After manually creating a custom field called "email" and then running
Help ➔ Tools ➔ Optimize Database
1Password removes my email field & its contents.
Anybody else experiencing this?

Here's a recent AgileBits post explaining what that function is intended to do. If you read that you may have an idea of what's happened in your case.

Hi @GeniusRedacted,
Could you check the list of things in the post Stephen links to? Specifically this one would be what I'd suspect:
"For logins specifically, it'll remove any custom field whose value matches the username or password"
Did your custom field whose name was "email" have a value that matched the login item's username?

Sorry about the delayed response.
Stephen - that link certainly cleared things up for me!
Rick - yup the email field is sometimes the same as the login field.
The purpose of adding a separate email field is to keep things consistent, & just in case i switch the login to something else (if the site permits this).0 -
Hi @GeniusRedacted,
No problem for the delayed response! Thanks for letting us know that explains what happened, and sorry for any confusion about that. The Optimize Database feature isn't something you should normally need to use, but if you're worried about running into this problem again in the future, you may want to put the email address in the Notes field of the Login item, if it's the same as the username.
If you have more questions or need anything else, please let us know - we're always glad to help!
