Sync no longer available in Mac version 5

Hi. I am a long term user of 1Password on iOS and Mac. I've never been able to get sync to work satisfactorily. Most recently ios8 and mac v4 would not sync. Now I have upgraded to v5 on mac and set up Dropbox sync again. It's synced once but there is no way to get it to sync again without resetting up sync each time. Per the support files, there are no instructions on re-syncing, i.e. there is no sync button or menu item to re-sync. Just instructions on how to set up sync which merely syncs once and never again. Appreciate any help available. Andrew

    Hi @ADDavis,

There isn't a re-sync button as it should be happening automatically. The idea is you set it up once and then 1Password handles the rest. 1Password is designed to checked for updated sync data when you unlock your primary vault, switch vaults or if the file system notifies it of changes to the sync location.

Let's perform a quick test. Can you do the following please.

    1. Can you create a test item on your iOS device.
    2. Can you then create a different test item on your Mac.

After creating the test item on your Mac do you see the iOS test item at all?

If the answer is no, what happens if you lock your Mac vault using the 1Password > Lock drop down menu option and then unlock it? can you see the test item?

If the answer is no, can you look in 1Password's preferences please, specifically the Sync tab. What does it say for the Last synced: timestamp?

Hopefully the answers to these will help

    Hi littlebobbytales

Thanks for the helpful information about in what circumstances a sync will occur. I could not find that in the help files so if it is not there it may be worth adding? This solves my problem because i note that on reopening 1P the vault synced. Now I need to spend some time reviewing all the new good stuff added to 1P over the last few years and make some improvements to my security regime.

    Thanks again and best regards
    A
