Filling passwords in other apps on Mac

I have a few Excel and Numbers spreadsheets that are password protected. I store the passwords in 1P as Secure Notes. In a future 1P release for Mac, is there any way you can have 1P locate the spreadsheet file, open it and populate the password field?

Even if 1P only located and opened the file, and I had to copy and paste the password, that would still be good.

Thanks

    Hi @pomme4moi,

1Password can fill login credentials in web browsers because it can integrate with the browser via the 1Password extension to give us the information we need to fill in your data. Unfortunately, we don't have that ability with other (non-browser) apps on Mac OS X, because they don't have extensions like web browsers do, so there's no direct link between those apps and 1Password. It might be possible at some point for 1Password mini to detect the app you're using (like Excel or Numbers) but it won't be able to fill password fields in those apps.

To make it easier to copy & paste your password from 1Password into the app, you can use 1Password mini, which is the 1Password icon in the menubar at the top of the screen. We have more information about 1Password mini here.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you about that! If you have more questions or need anything else, please let us know. :)
