Cmd-C saves new password, how to change?
When I use the Password Generator in 1Password mini, and press Cmd-C to copy the password, a new "Password" item is saved.
This behaviour changed some weeks/months ago, before I could press Cmd-C several times to simply copy the password, and no new items were created... how do I change this behavior/shortcut?

Hi @zoopzoop,
I believe that feature was added in version 5.3. Before that, the password generator in 1Password mini would only create a new Password item if you clicked the Fill button, or if you clicked the ▼ button next to Fill and chose Copy. However, some users were selecting the generated password and using ⌘C to copy the new password, and that led to them losing their new generated password in some cases. To prevent that from happening, highlighting the generated password and pressing ⌘C will now create a new Password item. This serves as a safety net.
I'm sorry you don't like the new behavior! There's no option to change that, but I can let our developers know you'd like to be able to (I can't make any promises, though). For now, if new password items are being created that you don't need, you can simply delete them if you'd like.
If you have more questions, just let us know! :)

Hey Drew,
Thanks for the explanation!
Now that I hear it like that, it even makes sense!
That way I can't "lose" the password I just generated (sometimes I don't immediately create a new Login item when signing up to a site, I rather log out and log in again, so the Password item is saved for the correct URL, and in between I sometimes happened to copy something else and the generated password is gone...)
What would be helpful if it there was a quick note "Login created" when I press Cmd-C, just as a note to the user.Cheers,

Hi Manuel ( @zoopzoop ),
I'm so glad to hear that Drew's explanation helped you out! Preventing you from 'losing' those generated passwords is precisely why we implemented that feature.
What would be helpful if it there was a quick note "Login created" when I press Cmd-C, just as a note to the user.
Not a bad suggestion! Although, because I'm nitpicky, I will clarify that 1Password is not creating a 'Login' item here, but a 'Password' item. In a perfect world, after you fill that newly generated password, 1Password will pop up and offer to save or update a Login item for you, but the item created here is much simpler - just a record of the password and the page that it was generated for. :)
