browser extensions
Browser extensions not working in Chrome and Opera.
Installed in both but will not launch. Extension enabled in both browsers.
Message onscreen says
"Looking for the 1Password app
The 1Password app must be installed for the extension to work properly.
Try again Get the app!
Why do I need a separate app?
I already installed the app, why isn't this working?"
(Extensions in Safari and Firefox are working)
1Password Version: 5.3.2
Extension Version: Opera 4.4.2.90 Chrome 4.4.2.90
OS Version: OS X 10.10.4
Sync Type: WiFi

Can I ask please, what versions of Opera and Chrome are you running our extension in? That may turn out to be a critical piece of information.

Have you tried rebooting your system? I haven't tested Opera but I know that version of Chrome work. If you'd been running the developer version of Chrome it would have been a different answer. Given Firefox and Safari are working though that would seem to exclude the other common causes such as VPN, proxy and anti-virus as for example, Safari and Chrome use the same system-wide proxy settings. I'm kind of hoping a reboot gives something a much needed kick in the pants.
You like your browsers btw, do you have Vivaldi in the mix too yet?

I had rebooted a number of times to no avail. But today mysteriously all extensions are working. My computer was shut down for about 8 hours from the time I last tried the two extensions yesterday to when I tried today. Perhaps that long sleep cured the problem.
I'll give Vivaldi a try. Thanks for the tip.
