I would like to use a 6-digit PIN for 1Password
I would like to use a 6-digit PIN for my 1Password vault on IOS. I have a 6-digit PIN for my iPhone & iPad and would like to use the same length PIN for 1Password.
Thanks.

Hi @elrjax,
Thanks for taking the time to write in with this request. At present time 1Password for iOS only offers a 4-digit PIN (or, Touch ID, if the device supports it). We don't have any plans at present to increase the PIN length. All new devices are Touch ID capable, and as such 1Password doesn't even offer the option of using a PIN (only Touch ID) on those devices.
With that said, we certainly appreciate the feedback, and will take it into consideration as we make future development decisions.

Hi Ben.
Thanks for the reply. As I will be moving to 6S devices in the near future I am concerned by your response. I wasn't aware you removed the PIN in Touch ID devices. With the search and seizure laws as they are in the US for those entering and leaving the country, I could be compelled to provide a thumbprint but can't (at this time) be compelled to provide a PIN or Password. I believe I will always want a PIN for my 1Password vaults, which is why I asked about six-digit PINs, and am disturbed by PIN removal in Touch ID devices (without giving the user community a chance to give feedback?). I would like to suggest that in addition to making a six-digit PIN an option, that I always be allowed to use a PIN on IOS Devices as an option.
I read in the forums someone mention they will start using a shorter master password in place of a 4-digit PIN. My passwords are 25+ elements in length, and a PITA to enter manually. I do not see using a shorter master password as a real solution to the lack of a PIN on Touch ID devices in the future.
Please run this up the flagpole.
Thanks.

Hi Ed,
As far as I can recall we've never supported PINs on Touch ID enabled devices, so I wouldn't call it a "removal."
With the search and seizure laws as they are in the US for those entering and leaving the country, I could be compelled to provide a thumbprint but can't (at this time) be compelled to provide a PIN or Password.
The recommendation here, at present, would be to reboot your phone before going through any security checkpoints. Rebooting the device temporarily deactivates Touch ID both for the device and for 1Password.
(without giving the user community a chance to give feedback?)
I can only remember two total posts on the subject. This one, and the other you're referencing. That isn't to say that there may not be a handful more. We're always open to feedback, but this has had very little of it.
I do not see using a shorter master password as a real solution
It isn't. :)
Please run this up the flagpole.
I'll be happy to pass the feedback along to our development team for their consideration.

The password must be such that nobody can guess that. It must contain the alphabet, numbers and also special character. Since the cyber attacks have been increased tremendously.
Also, according to law the password for any site must be set very carefully.0 -
That is one valid tactic. Diceware is another. :)

Chiming in to give a +1 to the request from @elrjax to make a 6-digit PIN unlock available as an option to devices with Touch ID. You don't always know when/where a "security checkpoint" is going to be. And sometimes a checkpoint, in a manner of speaking, can come to you.
Could you implement this as an "advanced" option that would have to be enabled in Settings?

Note that if you open 1Password to where it prompts for Touch ID authentication, and press Cancel on the TouchID prompt, it will lock and require the Master Password (TouchID won't work until after the password is entered). This is probably a bit faster than rebooting the phone, unless you're concerned with multiple apps (or with the phone itself being unlockable via TouchID, like it isn't right after a reboot). So rebooting is better, but you can lock just 1Password to require the master password.
Personally I would like to see a PIN (4 or more) on TouchID devices as an alternative because my kids use my iPad a lot and I'd like to be able to unlock 1Password with a PIN but not TouchID so they can have TouchID but can't get to my vault. I just type my Diceware password each time, which isn't ideal, but I understand where they're coming from. These are definitely edge cases for most people.
