Tried all the steps, but still get the message 1Password cannot connect to 1Password mini.

Running latest version of OSX. After dragging 1Password to the applications folder and running the system becomes unresponsive for a while, then the message "Cannot connect to 1password mini" pops up. Deleted 1Password, uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, to no avail.

Don't know which version (just downloaded) but cannot start it so can see the about box.

    Just found the solution. Typing "xattr -d -r -s com.apple.quarantine /Applications/1Password\ 5.app" in terminal window and restarting 1Password made it work.
