Upgrade from free version to Apple version but cannot buy the pro features due to incorrect apple ID

I have upgraded from the free version of 1Password to the Mac version to gain access to Pro Features. When I attempt to buy the Pro Features via the iOS app it responds with a message that the Apple ID is incorrect. Do I need to delete the iOS app and reinstall it via the App store?

1Password Version: 5.1
Extension Version: none
OS Version: 10.11.1
Sync Type: iCloud

  • Hi @barryhocking,

1Password for Mac and the Pro features for 1Password for iOS are sold separately. Purchasing one does not grant access to the other. Also: there isn't a "free" version of 1Password for Mac (only a 30 day trial). There is, however, a free version of 1Password for iOS.

Could you please clarify what exactly it was that you purchased?

    Thanks!

When I purchased Family Tree Maker some time ago, 1Password was included free in the package. I was able to use 1Password on the Mac, iPad and iPhone. When I attempted to buy the iOS Pro Features I received a message that I needed to buy the App. I used the Mac App store to purchase 1Password. After I installed 1Password on the Mac I attempted to buy Pro Features on the iPhone and received a message that the Apple ID was incorrect and that I needed to buy the App.

It sounds like I did not need to buy 1Password for Mac. I should have bought 1Password for iOS. Is that correct?

  • Hi @barryhocking,

I'm not aware of any deal we've run with Family Tree Maker. Please drop us an email with the details along with a link to this post (https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/54053/upgrade-from-free-version-to-apple-version-but-cannot-buy-the-pro-features-due-to-incorrect-apple-id#latest) to support+forums@agilebits.com and we'll see what we can do to get you straightened out.

I deleted the iOS App on an iPad and 2 iPhones and then reinstalled the apps on each device and it is now working fine.
I added 2 attachments to a login in the Mac version of 1Password.
I installed Pro Features on my iPhone and I can now see those 2 attachments in 1Password on my iPhone which is great.
I installed Pro Features on my wife's iPad and iPhone but I cannot see those 2 attachments. My wife has a different iCloud account. What do I need to do?

Apple does not allow sync between iCloud accounts which use different Apple IDs. You will need to use Dropbox.

    Hello @barryhocking,

Sorry for the bad news that Stephen_C brought but he is correct. His advice of Dropbox for syncing between Apple IDs is sound as it's platform agnostic, version agnostic and doesn't care about Apple IDs.
