Changing password and using touch
I got 1Password for my Mac before I got an iPhone. The password on the Mac was a complete sentence that I had to change to a much simpler password for the phone. I'm afraid that if I go back to the sentence I won't be able to use my iPhone. Because of the original password's length and the invisible keystrokes on the phone I doubt I would be able to put it in correctly so both the Mac and the iphone match. Is there a way for me to use my original password on both devices?
The support articles don't address this issue as they talk "around" and "sort-of" but none with enough directness to assuage my fear.

Hi @DarbyN
Yes -- you can use the original password. I definitely would not recommend weakening your Master Password. I'd recommend checking out this article:

I hope that helps!

Ben, I hear you say that I can change back to my original password however I may have missed something contained in the link you provided. I will reread them again but I need a point blank yes or no answer to: By changing the password on my Mac will the password on my iPhone also reflect that change? If yes - great! If no - what do I have to do? I'm new to iPhone and mostly computer illiterate.

Ah, sorry, I must've missed that part of your question. You may find you need to change the password on the iPhone as well. You can do that from within 1Password under
Settings > Security
.Thanks!

Ben, the locations were found and touch ID is set up. Thank You! The next question deals with the passwords generated by my Mac and iPhone.
Are the Mac and iPhone going to use the same password(s) for my bank (etc.) even though they (Mac/iPhone) will have different Master Passwords. Is there something I need to do here so that doesn't happen?0 -
As long as you have syncing setup you'll see the same data on both devices. Also: they shouldn't be using different Master Passwords. If they are, I'd recommend changing them so that they are the same.
You can review our syncing guide here:

I hope that helps!
