I have lost all my 1Password data on my iPhone. iPad and Mac desktop are both OK.

I have been syncing via WiFi - both iPad and iPhone to my Mac Powerbook. Today, I noticed that all items on my iPhone were duplicated. I attempted a new sync, without any change (still duplicated). I replicated the Vault settings from my iPad onto my iPhone, and then synced again. The Vault says "Primary Vault: Sync Service Wifi, and that I have 256 items.

BUT... when I go to Categories --- it says I have zero items.

I have waded through online help, user manual etc -- totally messed up now. Need to talk to someone please.

1Password Version: 6.1.2
Extension Version: n/a
OS Version: iOS9.2
Sync Type: WiFi

I have also tried shifting my syncing entirely to iCloud .... but only with the same result (no items on iPhone).

UPDATE: I have been able to get iPhone and iPad syncing via iCloud -- but NOT the Mac Powerbook.... still need help.

    Hello @KenHewitt,

To help better understand can you let us know the following please.

    1. What version of OS X are you running on the Mac?
    2. What version of 1Password are you running?

That will help us with the iCloud aspect.

@KenHewitt: 1Password 5.4.1 is not from the App Store; it's from the AgileBits Store. You will not be able to use iCloud Sync there. If you've purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store, you'll need to install it from there instead if you want to use iCloud Sync. If not, you can use Dropbox Sync in the version you're using now:

    Dropbox Sync setup

Just follow the guide to setup each device so they'll all share the same data. Please let me know how it turns out! :)

OK.... I think I've got it now. I mistakenly thought that my desktop version had been acquired through App Store. I have not reverted back to syncing through Dropbox and it seems to be OK. All a bit confusing -- as there also seems to be the option of WiFi syncing directly with the desktop - which I had turned on at some point and may have been part of the problem? QUESTION: Why would I choose Dropbox syncing over WiFi syncing?

    Hi @KenHewitt,

Wi-Fi Syncing is there for those that simply don't like/distrust cloud services and we have a few people that feel that way. They want to keep their vault stored only locally with no copy available elsewhere. There are certain sacrifices in usability though. Wi-Fi Sync only works if both the Mac and iOS device are on the same network at the same time with 1Password open on both. Dropbox allows any copy of 1Password to update when it's ready with the only requirement being an internet connection. Dropbox also allows you to share a vault with others as well. It mostly comes down to how you feel about Dropbox. If you like it and trust it then it's the more versatile option.

OK... Thanks for providing that clarification; and for help with my previous syncing issues.

I'm glad that helped! I know it can be a bit confusing given the different options, but of course those who use them appreciate their existence. It sounds like you should be all set, but please don't ever hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all! :chuffed:
