There used to be a separate location for the main vault and a folder sync copy not in 1PW6
It's been a while since I looked for the main keychain file but thought I remembered you could find or specify it's location. I can't seem to find it now. All I can find is the folder sync keychain. Is the main vault hidden now? I use folder sync to sync my laptop to desktop via shared wifi folder. I fear that the laptop sync could corrupt the sync folder keychain and I don't want to also mess up the main vault on the desktop which has the "official" vault. Is there a potential issue here? PS I also sync with wifi to IOS devices but don't think that's relavent to my main question.
1Password Version: 6.0.1
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: 10.10.5
Sync Type: Folder via shared Wifi

Hey @Dave Toth! Have you checked your sync preferences to see what's set up in there? Just click the 1Password menu when the app is open, the click Preferences, then switch to the Sync tab. Do you see your primary vault in there or is it just the one that's synced to a folder?

The attached screen shots show the only two files that end ".agilekeychain" on the computer and Find Any File also shows even hidden ones. One is an old one in backups and the only other one that's current and the one I intended to use only for sync. There doesn't seem to be a second one as I expected that is the "primary vault." Also the screen shot of Sync preferences says there is one primary vault and the sync folder copy. So where is the "Primary Vault?"

I think the confusion here is that in 1Password 3 (for example) the keychain was the main container of your database.
Now the main database is internal (stored in your "~/library" folder) in a .sqlite file and the keychain is only created and used as the syncing mechanism. That explained why you only have one keychain on your system, and its acting as the sync conduit.Does that answer your question? The staff have cautioned not to disturb the actual file. To provide you with the exact path I would need to know the version you are running. The Mac App Store or the web store ?
https://support.1password.com/how-dropbox-syncs/ the same would apply yo any sync mechanism. Folder etc.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought something like that may be the case. Vaults are SQL Lite DB. Makes sense. I have no need to tweak directly with them. I was just afraid that my sync folder had become the primary vault and might be a risk on the network. I've been a 1PW user for sometime (several versions Mac, Windows, and IOS) and it's probably a compliment to 1PW that I don't often have to think about such things--it just works.

Howdy @Dave Toth! It does just work. We love that part. Glad to hear that thightower helped clear things up here. If you have any questions in the future, feel free to let us know!
