Auto fill but not auto submit

Hi, maybe I am too stupid to see this option, but I am unable to have the extensions (FF or Chrome) auto fill the forms without auto submitting them. Is there a way? I loved this feature when I used Lastpass. The only thing I had to do is press "Login" on weblogins.

    Hello @dingsbums,

I can't comment on Lastpass - I've never used it and when I was a just a customer of AgileBits I never felt the desire to check out other options. What I can do though is talk a bit about how things work in 1Password.

Our Automatically submit logins after filling only applies to the Login category, if you were to have 1Password fill using a Credit Card or Identity item we wouldn't attempt to submit afterwards as to be honest that is the road to chaos and unhappy customers. Of course while the Login item was originally designed with login pages in mind people do find use in the for filling other types of forms that they fill on a regular basis. If you have Login items like this the best way forward is to edit each one in turn. When you edit them you will see two new options appear, one of which is titled submit. This option defaults to Submit when enabled but if you change it to Never submit you will find you can fill using this Login item and it won't auto submit yet leaving auto submit enabled for others.

Could this help with how you're trying to use 1Password?

In the past, you could press the Option key while clicking on a login in 1Password to have it auto-fill but not submit (even if “Submit when enabled” was selected for that login) but it does not work anymore. I’m sure this is what the OP wants, and I would love to see it brought back as well.

@aryayush You're absolutely right that this used to work. I confirmed just now that it is not working for me either. I opened a bug report and hopefully we'll have a fix in place soon.

My pleasure, @aryayush! I'm sorry for the inconvenience in the meanwhile.
