1password autofill password, websites respond with wrong password
First, I have been a long time user of 1password since version 1 and been extremely happy with it and had very little issues currently on version 5.1 on the mac, have not updated yet. Before I get into the issue, I did search the web and website to see if anyone had the problem I am encountering and I have not found anything.
Here is what I going on, there are some website when I use the autofill feature for the UID and PW the website said the are wrong. I have been able to determine it is the password since it will autofill the UID correctly and you can see it. What i found is if I go to the website, and have 1password auto-enter the password alone I still get an error from the website saying the password is incorrect. However, if I manually cut and paste the password it works perfectly fine. I have verify the UID and PW stored in 1passwork are correct. I have even deleted the entry in 1password and had 1password recreate the UID and PW and I having the same issue. This issue has cause me to be locked out of a few websites, since they limit you to 3 attempts. One of the main websites I am having the problem with is Wells Fargo, I am also having the issue with a few other Investment website as well as my companies BlueCross/BlueSheild website. None of these website will allow me to autofill the password with the website coming back and saying it is the wrong pass word.
I see there was a recently release of the extension to version 4.5.3, it says something about fixing and issue with go and fill and it also says some about about it compatible with version 6 of 1password. However, when use version 5.1 of 1password to install the extension is keeps installing 4.5.2.
Let me know if I should install 4.5.3 and it this intact address the issue I described.
TIA
1Password Version: 5.1

Greetings @Maestro64,
If you're a Safari user, which I suspect you might be and that you have installed the 1Password Safari Extension by way of Apple's Safari Extension Gallery then please stay with version 4.5.2 of the extension. The difference in 4.5.3 was to potentially resolve a very different issue when people were having issues and could not get a version newer than 4.4.4 to install. I won't bore you with the details but suffice to say, the issue "corrected" in 4.5.3 won't actually help any filling issue that may exist in either 1Password 5 or 6 for Mac.
What I will say is you are running quite an old copy of 1Password if you're running 5.1. We're now up to 6.0.2 on the Mac and 1Password 6 is a free upgrade for all 1Password 4 and 5 customers so I would recommend it. If you purchased 1Password from Apple's Mac App Store you would want to upgrade via their App Store application on your Mac and if you purchased from us I'm surprised the updater hasn't asked you to update. On the assumption that something isn't working as it should can I recommend the following.
- Quit both 1Password and 1Password mini. You can do this with the keyboard shortcut
⌃⌘Q
when 1Password is open (it doesn't have to be unlocked). - Drag the 1Password application from your
/Applications/
folder to the Trash. Please don't use an app cleaner. - Reboot your Mac.
- Download 1Password again our AgileBits Download page.
If you have trouble launching 1Password after downloading it can you try steps 1. and 2. from our knowledge base article, Troubleshooting “1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini” (Mac). They related to an issue we've seen in El Capitan where the quarantine flag isn't being fully removed for reasons unknown. Unfortunately the application itself can't remove the quarantine flag - if it could that would completely circumnavigate the security behind it.
None of this directly helps with the Login items that you're having trouble with.
Now I'm surprised to hear you're having trouble with Wells Fargo. I was assisting another user recently and their login window wasn't actually that bad, in fact it was one of the better ones. In that instance though what we discovered was that because of how 1Password fills, we were bypassing a password length limitation. Wells Fargo have an upper limit of 14 characters so if you tried to change your password to something longer using the Password Generator we would have stored the longer password, not realising the site truncated it. For the other user deleting a certain number of characters off the end of the password resolved the issue. The reason copy and paste or manual typing worked was the JavaScript on the site reacted to both of these methods while we interact directly with the page when filling.
Just to ensure there's no confusion, are you trying to log in via their home page at https://www.wellsfargo.com/ and is this where you created the Login item, either by following the steps in Saving a Login (Mac) or How to manually save a Login (Mac)?
I think the best approach is to work on one site at a time, so if you're happy to let's concentrate on Wells Fargo because I know we should work here and then once this one is good we'll move to the next until we've worked on all the Login items that aren't currently working.
