@BrendaWroe - Have you looked at the User Guide? Start slowly and add to your workflow as you become more familiar with the application. If the section on setting up 1Password is confusing, let us know a little bit about exactly what you are attempting to do, what happens when you do that, and what you expected to happen. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be to get you the help you need.
(I directed you to the Mac User Guide, since you are reporting that you are using that version. But User Guides for each platform can be found on the main 1Password Support Site.

How do I check if I did (or did not) turn off the 'Safari built in password saving feature'? I am new to MacBooks too. I seem to have some logins saved now, but don't know how I did it. What I need is a 1.2.3. instruction set for getting passwords in there. When I look at instructional videos they seem to whiz by this bit, just to show the more complicated and special features .

Brenda, I am right there with you. I wish I hadn't purchased this.

@BrendaWroe I'm sorry for the difficulty you're having. Safari's built-in password saving is at
Safari > Preferences
in the menu bar and then under thePasswords
tab. As for "getting passwords in there", did you visit the user guide that @hawkmoth linked to? The Getting Started section has information about saving new logins specifically. As I said before, if you have specific questions or anything isn't clear from the user guide, please do let us know.@nene101 Have you taken a look at the user guide as well? I'm not sure exactly what your situation is, but I'm definitely sad to hear you're regretting your purchase.

I have checked your user guide, and have muddled my way through a little. Not yet dared trying saving a bank account login, in case I am not able to get back. I must say the whole experience is not a confidence building exercise, it is far from what I was led to believe from the marketing videos.

Hi, @BrendaWroe. Thanks for sharing your experience. One of the best ways to get started with 1Password is to simply allow 1Password to remember the passwords that you're already using. This way, you can feel comfortable getting to know 1Password and how it works without the anxiety of not knowing your passwords.
Of course, eventually we recommend that you allow 1Password to generate your passwords for you, but we would rather have you using your old passwords with 1Password first than give up because you felt uncomfortable.
Personally, I only know maybe 5 or 6 of my passwords and I feel safe knowing that 1Password does know all those crazy passwords I could never remember. But, I can certainly understand that if you're not comfortable with things, entrusting your most important data to any digital repository could be scary. Start small and let 1Password grow on you. I'm sure it will. :)
