Hi. I just set up 1 Pw for iOS (iPad & iPhone). I am in the process of creating my logins. I have input my own passwords for my logins so I'm a little confused about something: do I have the same protection when using my own passwords or is it best to leave that blank and let 1pw generate them for me? And if I let the system generate a password for me how do I login manually from say, a completely different device not associated with my 1Pw? I wouldn't know the generated password.

Also, for apps: obviously I have apps on my devices that I stay logged into. Let's say Instagram for example. Do I need to log out of all my apps on my devices and only access them through my 1Pw to be protected?

My banking apps on my devices have fingerprint id logins enabled but these apps do not support 1Pw. Should those be accessed through logins in 1Pw instead of using the apps?

Thank you

    Hi @mallorca106,

I'm glad you've started enjoying 1Password! I'll try to help you sort out how to better take advantage of it. You don't need to change any of your existing passwords, 1Password will store with the same level of encryption and security any password regardless of how it was created. That being said, the safer your password is, the better: if you have the name of your dog as password someone could guess it regardless of how well encrypted it is within 1Password. If you want to change your passwords you'll have to do it on each of the accounts you have. The Password Generator will let generate for you random word passwords like this: private-sphinx-cesspool. If you ever need to type it into another device you can always take your phone out, unlock your vault, click on "reveal" and read it.

If you don't want to log out every time for each individual app, I'd recommend using Touch ID for your entire phone. For your banking apps, you'll be safe using Touch ID.

I hope this information helps you! :chuffed:
