1Password creating duplicate entries for each login attempt
Why is that that every time I login to a site - 1Password seems to create a new listing and now my list of passwords has 2-4 duplicates of each item?
I'm using 1Password version 6.0.2 (just updated) and am on a Mac with OS 10.10.5.
thanks, clarisse

Greetings @clarissep,
That sounds quite unusual what you're describing so I'd like to better understand what is happening
First of all, a couple of questions. You've told us what version of 1Password for Mac you have but can I ask about the following please.
- What is your preferred browser and the version of that browser?
- What version of the 1Password extension is installed?
I would also like to better understand the sequence of events.
Let's use Amazon as an example.
- You either use open and fill (clicking the website field stored in in the Login item) or you manually visit Amazon's login page and you fill using the keyboard shortcut
⌘\
or similar. - 1Password logs you and then?
Is 1Password asking you if you want to save a new Login item? If it is I would expect to see a window like this.
and clicking the Save Login button would result in a new Login item in your vault.
or are you saying 1Password logs you into Amazon, making no indication of anything else happening but suddenly you have a brand new Login item in your vault?
Now it might be you're being very precise in your choice of words and when you say passwords you do really mean the Passwords category visible in the Sidebar and that the number of Password items is growing. Password items can be created manually but the most common cause for their existence is use of the Password Generator in 1Password mini. Each time you copy or fill using a password generated by the Password Generator it creates a Password item so that you have a safety net should it be needed. It's much better to have a record just in case than to find out you've lost something and not have the safety net. When you use the Password Generator from inside a browser it looks at the URL for the page you're on and uses that for the title to help jog your memory of where it was likely used.
I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this puzzle once we better understand what is happening
