Converting from OPVault to Agile Keychain

@Drew_AG , your comments above point to a link to Switching back to Agile Keychain. However this does not seem to be an option any longer. I tried following those steps but was not given an option to delete dropbox data, and when starting a new sync there was no option to set “Enable OPVault for Dropbox and Folder Sync” to disabled. Only choice was OPVault. I'm on v 6.2.2
My main fear is my iPhone dies and I can't access my passwords until I get a new iphone. Teams seems a lot more then what I need. Simple access from website like 1passwordanywhere seems like it would meat my needs.

Hi @douglas8000,
Thanks for writing in about this! I'm sorry if my reply in the previous thread caused any confusion for you. That was on our Mac forum, so that discussion was about the Mac version of 1Password. The steps from the link I gave in that message are still correct for 1Password for Mac, but it looks like you're using 1Password for iOS. To avoid confusion, I've moved your message to a new discussion in our iOS forum. I hope you don't mind!
The iOS version of 1Password works a bit differently than the Mac version. Unfortunately, the iOS version doesn't have an option to choose between OPVault and Agile Keychain when using Dropbox sync. So, if there aren't any existing sync files in Dropbox when you enable Dropbox sync, 1Password 6 for iOS will create a new sync file in OPVault format.
If you would still like to sync with an Agile Keychain file instead of an OPVault file, it's possible to set that up if you're using the Mac or Windows version of 1Password. Do you happen to use 1Password for Mac or Windows? If so, we can explain what you'll need to do.
However, even if you switch to an Agile Keychain file, 1PasswordAnywhere still won't work. To make a long story short, 1PasswordAnywhere was an old feature designed for 1Password 3, built into the old Agile Keychain format, relied on older Dropbox APIs, and had very limited capabilities. It's being phased out and isn't included in new Agile Keychain files anymore, so we won't be able to support it going forward. I'm sorry for the inconvenience!
Our new 1Password for Teams and 1Password for Families services have a fully featured web app which is more secure, advanced, and easier to use than 1PasswordAnywhere, so that's probably the future of this type of vault access. They're free to try, so please feel free to sign up and see if it's the right fit for you. We're happy to help if you have any questions about that! :)

Thanks for replying Drew_AG
I'm disappointed to hear no free access via web is available for iOS users. I love the app but feel if my phone dies I won't have access. I'm mean I love this app so much it's worth a small fee, but $5 a month for peace of mind is ridiculous.0 -
@douglas8000: On the contrary, I think it would be ridiculous of us to offer something like web access for free, only to have to take it away later because free isn't sustainable, and certainly doesn't pay for the hosting and bandwidth costs associated with that type of service. Perhaps we'll have to agree to disagree.
Now, on a more serious note, part of the appeal of 1Password for many people is the fact that "if my phone dies I won't have access": if I put my data on a single device, I expect it to only be accessible there, not everywhere in perpetuity. It's really nice to be able to get to it when you need it, but only if it's by choice. So I'm glad that each of us has that option, rather than having the decision made for us. :sunglasses:

Well we have 1Password on the main computer with both my wife's and my vaults. I can use iCloud to sync, but she can't. Only the primary vault can sync with iCloud.

Only the primary vault can sync with iCloud.
@prime: Indeed. That may be something we can change in the future, but currently it is not possible to sync more than one vault with iCloud, nor is it possible to login to multiple iCloud accounts. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you. :(
