[Feature Request] User definable groups
I was expecting to be able to assign access to vaults by group. So, I create groups like admin, finance and development and add users to those groups. This would make it much easier to manage access to shared vaults. Am I missing something in groups, as this seems only to contain three system-defined groups that are about administration not access?

I just started looking into 1password for team and ran into same issue. I too was expecting to be able to create groups and then customize permissions of various groups to access vaults. There does not seem to be a way to create new groups.

Same here. This is a must have for enterprise adoption.

Hi @p_black, @rkabra101, and @Farhan! Thanks for posting your interest in custom groups. We've had a few people ask about it before, and we're hoping to add them in the future. In the meantime, what we've been doing at AgileBits is simply using different vaults for each department. So in your case, @p_black, you could have one for admin, another for finance, and yet another for development. You can control the access to those on a group level, but only the predefined ones at the moment. We're hoping to have something more like what you're seeking soon, so thanks for the feedback and patience. :) Let us know if you have any other ideas or questions regarding the beta.

Hi @penderworth,
If I create, let's say, a new paypal account and I want to share it with 3 different teams. Would I have to recreate it in 3 separate Vaults? Or does it exist as a single object with links in the 3 Vaults.
If the password expires, and one team changes it and updates the entry in 1password, would it reflect across the other 2 teams as well?

We do have a fairly number of vaults, but these are not split by department. We therefore have to assign broadly similar groups of individuals multiple times to different vaults, and we'd want to assign different combinations of these groups to each vault. Without proper groups this is rather cumbersome.

@Farhan Great question. We actually answered that in this thread. In brief, it's something we're considering for the future. :)
@p_black Ah, I see what you mean then. Hopefully we'll have something to make that easier soon. Thanks again for letting us know about your interest.
