Invitation licenses

We are thinking if implementing the 1password in our company and not sure how we should go about sharing passwords with other companies.

For example if we want to share password with another outside user who doesn't use 1password.
Should we pay an extra license and add them to our company or there is another way ?

Just seems a bit strange if we have to pay for every user that we want to share our passwords with.

And I can't think any external user would want to pay the license themselves for the option to be able to use our passwords.

This happens often in our company as we employee freelancers for short and long term projects as well as we work with other companies.

We are around 15 people in our company but might need to share random passwords with another 10-20 people or companies.

What is your vision on this case study ?

  • Hi @vipconsult

Thanks for taking the time to write in with this question. It is a great question, and fortunately one we already thought of and built the product around. It seems guest accounts should do nicely for you:

1Password for Teams Admin Guide: Access Control

These are accounts that do not cost anything, and are granted access to a single vault (e.x. Perhaps you have a vault for a specific project that you are collaborating with another company on).

I certainly hope that helps, but we would definitely appreciate any feedback you have. :)

    Ben
