1Password stand-alone vs Teams vs Family licenses

My wife and I already purchased 1Password for Mac, for iPhone and for Android. We're sharing a vault through Dropbox. I've recently set up 1Password for Teams for my business with my business partners. Now there is 1Password for Families which makes sharing a lot easier for my wife (and my kids). So, now I'm not sure which way to go license-wise...

Is it possible to transfer my current licenses completely to 1Password for teams and can I use that license for Families as well?

Please advise!

  • Hi, @moosten, and welcome to our forum!

It's a great question! There is no license conversion available within 1Password Families because we decided to have an early adopter special instead. If you create a family account before March 21st, you will get the following early-adopter perks:

    • $10 added to your account (an extra 2 months free)
    • Twice the amount of secure storage for your documents (that’s 2 GB)
    • The ability to invite two more family members for free (a total of 7 family members)

We wouldn't be here without awesome customers like you so we made those last two perks a permanent addition for your family account.

Your family account and team account will be billed separately. We've done away with licenses in those accounts, so we can finally let customers pay just based on users, rather than on which or how many platforms they use.

    I hope that helps!
