window from safari plug-in of 1password is frozen on the desktop
using 1password on Safari plug-in: it too often happens that if I enter into a note to view its contents the note stays frozen on the desktop. Only way to get rid of it is to restart the computer.
1Password Version: 6.0.2
Extension Version: 4.5.3
OS Version: 10.11.3

Hi @jipnet,
When you click on the 1Password Safari Extension icon this requests 1Password mini to make its menu visible. At this point everything that happens inside this menu and viewing items is all to do with 1Password for Mac. I'm just explaining this to help in understanding where the issue lays.
So I would expect the issue would also present itself if you were to click on the 1Password icon that exists in your OS X menu bar at the top of the screen as this brings up the same 1Password mini menu.
Now to try and understand (and replicate) the issue can you say a little more about how you normally interact with 1Password when this happens.
The image below for example shows the Item Details of a Secure Note in its unanchored view.
Is it this view that becomes frozen on the screen or do you normally anchor then item to the screen (via the button in the bottom left hand corner) or do you edit the item using the edit button in the bottom right hand corner?
I would also be interested in learning what happens if you attempt to quit both 1Password and 1Password mini instead of rebooting the Mac. You can quit both by opening the main 1Password window and using the keyboard shortcut
⌃⌘Q
. This will complete terminate 1Password and if our process is somehow keeping something on the screen it should be resolved by all of the 1Password's processes being terminated. If stuff remains on the screen even after that we might be looking at something connected to OS X but that would be for the developers to figure out given their much better understanding of how OS X works. So what we need to do is see if we can come up with key steps that allow us to replicate the bad behaviour you're seeing because it's definitely undesirable.

That's the view. I found yesterday that killing the process in Activity Monitor also clears the screen. I can't replicate it at will: it's just when I open a note that sometimes the window stays frozen on the main screen (I have an external monitor too). I don't use the anchor or the edit buttons when it does: just trying to grab an id from this particular note via copy/paste (I don't know if all notes produce this result; I standardly use one for library borrowing). If it happens again I'll try the shortcut you mention. thanks

Greetings @jipnet,
Please do keep us updated. Unless we discover it's something completely out of our hands then whatever is causing this needs to be resolved by us. Knowing that all it takes is displaying the Item Details as I showed in my screenshot is at least something to help narrow down the possibilities.
I'm going to make a note to remind myself to ask the developers about this, even in case there is something we can ask you that will help determine the cause.

Hello @jipnet,
So I've had a chance to pick the brains of our developers and what I'm being told (as well as learned out) is that the window in its unanchored view, the one you're having trouble with is pretty much all OS X. We tell it we want a popover window and our part is to stay what the contents of the popover are. So we don't really work with the actual window you're seeing like we do with a more normal OS X window where we control a lot of what happens. So we have a feeling that this is actually an OS X bug, but until we’re able to reproduce it in-house we can’t be sure. If you have any information that could help us be able to reproduce this ourselves so that we can learn more about the issue and determine what we can do about it, that’d be helpful. Basically the unpredictability of it is hampering our efforts to pin the sucker down. I wish I could have brought back better news - sorry about that.
