Hi. I had an old 1P free account before but stopped using it for almost a year now. Now, my boss invited me to a Team 1P and I created a new account in the team. But When I downloaded the Mac App or installed the Chrome Ext., it won't accept my new team password. So How can i disable or deactivate my old account so I can use the new one? Thanks for the help!

    Hi @LIza_Yogahealer,

Prior to the release of 1Password for Teams the concept of having an account with us didn't exist. The way 1Password used to work (and still does) is you create a vault locally on your computer. Now simply removing the 1Password application from your Mac wouldn't have removed the old vault so when you re-installed 1Password for Mac it found your old vault (what you're referring to as the free account) and it's asking for the password for that.

Thankfully there is a way to resolve this. We have a guide titled How do I start over with an empty vault?. Now at a certain point in the steps it will say follow these ones if you have the Mac App Store version of 1Password and if you have our AgileBits Store version follow these ones instead. I strongly suspect you will want to follow the steps for our AgileBits Store version.

Once you've done this you should find 1Password behaves as if it has never been run on this Mac before and you should be greeted by the first run window that will ask if you want to create a vault or sign into 1Password for Teams. At this point you should be able to use the credentials you've gotten from creating your 1Password for Teams account.

If you have any trouble at all with any of this though please do let us know
