iOS Dropbox sync keeps sugesting non-existing vault

I moved my vault and made different changes to test how everything works. Now I am in a bad situation. When syncing with Dropbox my iPhone keeps sugesting the path: "up/1Password.opvault" - There is not vault at that location. I have tried to stop sync on my mac and iPhone, delete everything from Dropbox(Vaults AND ws.agile.1Password.settings), deleting the 1Password App from my phone. Starting from scratch, my iPhone App still suggest the Dropbox path: "up/Password.opvault". This behaviour is persistent even with valid vaults on my Dropbox. How can I resolve this?

    Hi @hpekristiansen

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having! I've seen this happen myself, several times actually. It is most common (for me) when I put a keychain in a shared Dropbox folder. It can both take time for vaults to show up after being added there and also take time for it to disappear after it's removed or renamed.

I got pretty frustrated with it one time and dug into it and found that we are asking Dropbox for new items each time, this is not a cached response. Though it could be a cached response on the part of Dropbox. Usually this works itself out for me after 5-10 minutes, sometimes a little longer.

I'd be curious to know if the "up" folder is a shared folder or not, or if it's just a standard folder in your Dropbox account.

But given the slow response on our part to this I would imagine this issue should be resolved by now if you were to try again. Can you confirm things are working properly now or are you continuing to have trouble?

Thank you for the reply. My 1Password is indeed working again. I do not know if is because of a timeout of a cashed answer from Dropbox or if is because i used the 'delete permanently' function in Dropbox. My "up" folder was never shared, but I tried with other shared vaults.

How does 1Password find Dropbox vaults? Does it search through all the files for .opvault files? What is the .ws.agile.1Password.settings file used for?
Can anyvault.opvault be moved manually to a new location /newDropboxFolder/NewName.opvault? -and then be added to 1Password and have the correct name?

    Thanks for the update!

1Password does do a search of Dropbox for .opvault and .agilekeychain files. The .ws.agile.1Password.settings file is a legacy file and is no longer used.

Unfortunately changing the filename of a vault will not change the vault name within the app. We do not presently have a way to change vault names after they've been created. You'd need to create a new vault with the name you want, at the location you want, move all of your items from the old vault to the new, and then delete the old vault (note that the Primary vault cannot be deleted).

I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

    Ben
