Disappearing Passwords

I have searched through the forums some but did not quickly find a similar situation, so I apologize if I overlooked something.

I am syncing 1Password across 2 computers and one Android device via Dropbox. Everything seemed to be working well for years, but within the last year (probably even a shorter window, maybe 3-6 months), I sometimes go to 1Password to retrieve information such as a password or credit card number and find that the object (e.g., login) is completely missing.

In some cases, I have been able to find the lost information on another device, but in other cases, I cannot find it. I suspect something is going wrong with the sync process. One odd thing is that if I re-create a missing object, it will sync across all of the devices but then still disappear from one or more devices later.

I appreciate any help.

    Hello @billyg2,

I think the best way to proceed would be to review a diagnostic report from all the copies of 1Password.

I would like you to create the following Diagnostic Reports please, one for each device. These guides will assist. I've linked you to the Mac and Android ones but if you have a Windows machine in there you should find a link on one of those pages to get the details for 1Password for Windows.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums

The email address you will want to use is support+forum@agilebits.com.

When sending the first diagnostic report to the address above it would help immensely if you could include a link to this thread and your forum handle so we can connect the two. For additional diagnostic reports please wait for the automated reply that will be forthcoming. If you either reply to that email or use the email subject as is it will allow our system to link the emails together as belonging to a single issue.

Once you've sent the reports a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. With access to the report we should be able to better assist you

Hopefully something in the diagnostic reports will help us discover what is happening :(

The support ticket ID of the email with the initial diagnostic reports is WZP-21299-348.

  • Hi @billyg2,

I see your email, and will reply to you via email with more questions.

    Rick
