@shantimarisa: Unfortunately without some basic information it's hard to say what might be going wrong and how we might right it! Please tell me all OS, 1Password, and device versions you're using, the exact steps you're taking, and what is (or is not) happening the way you expect so we can figure out the best plan of action.

The more information you can give, the better. For instance, are you receiving some error when you attempt to setup sync? Since you indicate you're using Dropbox, be sure to check your settings to make sure that your devices are syncing with the same vault:

Please let me know what you find. Thanks in advance! :)

Hi, and thank you. I have an iPhone 6, version 9.3.2. I can't get it to sync with my Mac Book Pro, El Capitan, 10.11.4. 1Password: On my phone, I have version 6.4.1. On my Mac, version 6.2.1. When I tap Sync Now in my phone, it says it is syncing my primary vault, via Dropbox, into the folder /Apps/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain. When I check preferences in my Mac, it says it is syncing to the same folder. I disabled sync on my phone and then started it again and it still doesn't work. I appreciate your help, from my perspective it seems like everything is set up properly, it just doesn't sync when it says it is. Thank you!

@shantimarisa: Indeed. Thanks so much for following up! It does sound like things are in order as far as the vault in use. I appreciate you checking that, since it can be easily overlooked and cause a lot of confusion when they don't match. :)

Next, please check to make sure that each device is actually sending changes to the Dropbox website:

Diagnosing where the sync process fails

This will tell us if the problem exists on one device or another. For example, it may be that the Dropbox app on your Mac isn't functioning. Sometimes it doesn't update properly, so reinstalling the Dropbox client can help in many cases.

During this process, it may become obvious where the problem lies, and you may be able to get it working. But If you're still having trouble, the best thing to do will be to restart your device, reproduce the same issue, and then generate a diagnostic report and send it to support+forums@agilebits.com so we can look at the logs to determine exactly what is happening:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (iOS)*

*In 1Password Settings > Advanced > Diagnostics > Log Settings, enable App, Agile Keychain, Cloud Keychain, Database, Dropbox, SQLite, and Sync.

Just be sure to include a link to this forum thread and your username in the email so we can 'connect the dots'. Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

Thank you, but you don't explain how to reinstall the dropbox client. Could you give me instruction on this please? Do you have people who can help me with this via chat where you take control of my computer? I really don't want to mess things up. And I travel a lot and need the syncing to work properly. Thank you!

@shantimarisa: Installing software for you isn't something we can do, but it's easy, and Dropbox's support site covers this. Just go to the Dropbox website to get the latest version:

    Cheers! :)
