Pro features gone after restoring phone from backup

Two years ago I purchased 1password from the mac app store. After syncing my mac with iOS, the pro features were unlocked as promised (without in app purchase). I had to restore my phone today from a backup and after that I lost all pro features and I can't restore them. I already tried reinstalling the app.

1Password Version: 6.4.4

OS Version: iOS 10.0

I just restored an iCloud backup to my new iPhone 7 and all my Pro Features are gone and it wants $9.99 now. The restore purchases link doesn't work. Has anyone had this problem and found a fix?

@genten, @kdeisher: I'm sorry for the trouble! The App Store will only validate the receipt if you're logged into the same Apple ID used to purchase it both when installing the app and when doing the restore.

The best thing to do will be to double check your email receipt from Apple, as it will include the Apple ID used and other information that may come in handy when contacting Apple.

Then make sure you backup your data before reinstalling the app. Please let me know how it turns out!

@genten: Just in case there's any confusion, purchasing 1Password for Mac does not unlock the Pro Features in 1Password for iOS. It is impossible to "bundle" purchases between app stores, so these are separate.

Hi @brenty and thanks for the reply. Purchasing 1Password for Mac actually did unlock the Pro Features in 1Password for iOS when I bought it two years ago. The iOS App recognized that the Safe was created with the payed Mac App and unlocked the Pro Features without any in app purchase. That was advertised in the description and part of the reason why I decided to buy the Mac App rather than just the iOS app. It worked flawlessly and I had the Pro Features (I always had only one Apple ID, so that's not the problem) up until yesterday when I switched phones (to an iPhone 7, maybe thats part of the problem).

@genten: I'm sorry to say that this isn't technically possible, though I wish it were! The only app "unlocking"/registration that 1Password can do with vault data is if you purchase a 1Password for Mac license and save it in your vault, 1Password for Mac can register itself on other Macs by reading that data from the vault when it is sync'd. 1Password for iOS doesn't have this ability since it does no use licenses; any purchases are tied to the iOS App Store, which is (confusingly) completely separate from the Mac App Store.

I don't believe that we've advertised something like that since it isn't possible, so if there is an error in the description please shoot us an email at support+licenses@agilebits.com with a link or screenshot and we'll correct it. Please also include a link to this discussion, and we'll see what we can do to help in your particular case. Thanks in advance! :)
