difference between pro at $9.99 and subscription at $2.99/month

What is the difference between the IOS pro app at $9.99 and a subscription at $2.99/month? If you buy the subscription do you also need to buy the IOS pro app? If you buy the subscription and llater want to discontinue the monthly subscription what happens to the IOS app?

The iOS pro purchase just covers iOS, not any other platforms. The subscription covers all platforms including the iOS Pro version. So if the only devices you have are iOS ones, purchase the pro. If you have Macs or Windows machines as well you will find the subscription the best purchase. See https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/68576/whats-the-difference-between-a-1password-subscription-and-a-standalone-license#latest for the benefits of a subscription.

  • @mqsymth in addition to what @danco said, the subscription also includes web access to your passwords as well as automatic synching between your devices (cloud based, hosted by 1Password/Agilebits). The pro apps can also sync between devices but you would need to set this up yourself using something like Dropbox or iCloud.

@mqsymth: Indeed, if you only need 1Password for iOS, then the Pro Features in-app purchase is a great option.

However, a 1Password subscription will give you access to all of the apps, the web interface, and does away with license management and sync configuration altogether — you simply login to your account to authorize a device and access your data:

If you subscribe, the Pro upgrade in 1Password for iOS is included (along with the other apps) for the duration of your subscription. I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)
