What exactly is a sign-in address and what is it used for?

What exactly is the sign-in address used for? (like what is it and what does it do?) It just seems a bit redundant to use that and my personal email address. I'm sure I'm missing something though!

Hi @dannim - That's an excellent question! For an Individual account, you're right, it's a bit redundant. That's why the sign-in address is always https://my.1password.com for this type of accounts. For Family and Team accounts it gives you a recognizable URL like your-family.1password.com or your-company.1password.com. This gives all members of the account a common URL to access their 1Password data.

    I hope this helps. :)

  • Oh okay @Roman! I think that makes sense! Thanks for the response. :)
