Failed to load item: Cannot read property 'substring' of undefined

I'm try to load an entry in the browser (I'm on linux so i can use a native app), and I'm getting the following error when I click on it.

Failed to load item:
Cannot read property 'substring' of undefined

I seem to be able to open it through the app on my android phone.

    Hi @billygoat

    I am sorry to hear that you are getting an error. It is quite rare, but I have seen that occur before when an item is broken in some way, usually by a field being empty. For example, in one case it was caused by a custom field that did not have a name. You may want to check that any custom fields on your item to see if that is the case.

    Can you take a look at the javascript console in your browser when you get that error, and report any javascript errors that are occurring. In addition do you remember which device was used to create that item as it would help us understand what caused the empty value to occur in the first place.
