Help with syncing all devices using 1 password account
I already had 1 password on my phone and my Mac synced with Drop box. Then I purchased a 1 PW account. Now I can't figure out how to get the data from my Mac to my phone. Do I delete 1 PW from my phone and start over? How do I sign in to 1 PW on my phone without having to put in that long secret key etc. I am confused. It was so easy before. Now it seems unnecessarily complicated.
Also I sign in to my account and the accounts don't look the same as on my Mac. I mistakenly put a new account on my Mac with a duplicate name and I can't delete it. It doesn't even appear on the 1 PW account. Help! please.
1Password Version: 6
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: 10.10.e
Sync Type: drop box or cloud

Hey @tbalcomb,
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble! Let's get everything set up.
First off, to easily sign in to new devices without having to manually type in your Secret Key, you can use the helpful QR code in your Emergency Kit. To learn more about adding new devices to your account, have a read through this article:
https://support.1password.com/add-device/Next up, on your Mac, do you still have the old local "Primary" vault? Once you've moved all your items to your "Personal" or "Shared" vaults, you can delete the items in your Primary vault. Then, open up 1Password > Preferences > Advanced and uncheck the option to "Allow creation of vaults outside 1Password accounts". That'll get rid of the old Primary vault so you don't have to worry about accidentally saving items offline. I'm guessing that's where you saved the duplicate item.
Let us know how that goes!

I'm soooo confused and am very frustrated. I'm trying to sink my accounts with my Mac and my new and old cell phone.
I'm trying to simply sign in on my new phone to use my account on that.....and no matter what, it won't let me in. No matter what I do, it says "invalid login information" Unable to verify your credentials. I know my secret key is correct and I'm guessing my sign in address is correct? (https://my.1password.com). I tried the Sign-in address all different ways too. Is the "Master Password" the one I sign in to the other phone with to open up the app OR is it another password that I had to sign up?
What the heck is a sign in address?
How do I figure out what kind of account I have? I think I did the free trial years ago but I can't find any receipt for that. So confused!
Signed,
Would love to get on with my day,

Hi @c2morrison,
I'm sorry that this has been a frustrating experience. Let me see if I can help out. We might have better luck with this via email as we'll be able to ask questions that wouldn't be appropriate for a public forum. If my round of help here doesn't fix things up, I would appreciate it if you could click this link : (edit removed link) on your Mac (where presumably you set things up for the 1Password account), and it'll give us a bit more information.
So let's see if I can help.
- Is the "Master Password" the one I sign in to the other phone with to open up the app OR is it another password that I had to sign up
The Master Password in this case would be the one that you configured the 1Password Account with. If you're able to sign in to https://my.1password.com in your browser on your Mac, then you should be able to go into your Personal vault, where you'll find your starter kit. One of the items is a login item which contains all of the information (including Master Password) that you would need to sign in to another device.
- What the heck is a sign in address?
It's exactly what you've been putting in: https://my.1password.com. We give the option there because 1Password Families and 1Password Teams accounts actually get a special sign in address that's unique to them (for example I have https://fillion.1password.com)
- How do I figure out what kind of account I have? I think I did the free trial years ago but I can't find any receipt for that. So confused!
If you sign in to https://my.1password.com it should tell you. Or you can email us and we can help you with that. It's one of those details that we don't necessarily want to give out on a public forum.
I suspect that my answers won't have cleared everything up for you. Please don't hesitate to click that link I posted up top and we'll get you all set up via email.
Rick
