We do plan to support password autofill, but beyond that I’m not aware of any specific comments regarding password generation at this point. I’m sure we’ll have more to share as the launch comes closer. :)

Ill jump in here with a question....HOW DOES ONE START A NEW PROBLEM? I cant find ANYWAY to input my problem in ANY of the Forum? HAve I gone nuts??
Jim BAbcock0 -
My question would be: Why/how do some sites refuse the act of Autofill and many who do accept it If I could start a new topic I would.. Jim B 1PW subscriber

How do i propose a new problem to AgileBits Forum? It has all changed...oR I’m going nuts!...What happened to the new discussion page? I’m completely confused....

The above was added to this OLD discussion I had back in 2018. I see NO way to start new discussions in the Forum. Please advise
I am a subscriber and long time user.AND what is all that discussion about “tags” or “folders” ...I never heard of this and have therefore never used them.

@three-cushion: I've split you off into a new topic so we can focus on your issue. :)
Unfortunately without some basic information it's hard to say what might be going wrong and how we might right it! Please tell me the OS, 1Password, browser, and extension versions you're using, the exact steps you're taking, and what is (or is not) happening the way you expect so we can figure out the best plan of action:
Find your version
The more information you can give, the better. For instance, What's the URL of the website where you're having trouble? Thanks in advance! :)

This discussion was created from comments split from: I want folders back [tags are used in 1Password 7 and higher].0

@three-cushion: When you go to the 1Password support forum:
https://discussions.agilebits.com
each forum category has a "New Discussion" button above the existing threads. For example:
https://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/accounts
I hope that helps. :)

Using iOS Ver 12.2;
iPW iOS ver 7.3. I’m a subscriber user.
(Extension? That only applies to IMac versions does it not?...don’t have that one handy since I don’t use iMac very much anymore)Problem: I use 1PW to open all my sites yet not all will accept Autofill. One such: www.sdge.com (San Diego power utility). I must use Chrome to access my data b/c when SDGE goes to get the data in Safari, i get an error that it will not accept 3rd party cookies. Using Chrome, I get no such error. I can live with an occasional requirement to use Chrome.
Now for Autofill;
when trying to login in with 1PW Autofill on EITHER Chrome OR Safari, SDGE will error the login if Autofill is used. IF I MANUALLY input the PWD in either Safari OR Chrome, I get connected and all goes OK. If I try to use Autofill, I get an error that the SDGE site does not recognize either my UserID OR my PWD.
I have a couple of other sites that require PWD input manually.... But I don’t remember them now. It IS beginning to grow however...as SDGE tells me it is another tightening of their security policy to dis-allow Autofill for the connect.
So...that’s the issue I want you to know. It will grow I think as more sites are convinced Autofill is a security issue.
Your comments ..please

Above trial was using https://www.agilebits.com
I tried a different URL;;....... https://www.agilebits.com/categories/accounts
..But... still no “Button” for “New Discussions”I’m using my UserID/PWD that has not changed in a long time ...
Could this be an iOS 12.2 error? Anyone else note it?

Greetings @three-cushion,
As this is about 1Password for iOS I would like to learn a little more if you don't mind. As it stands there are two primary ways of filling, Apple's AutoFill, present in iOS 12 which 1Password for iOS can leverage and since iOS 8 (if I recall correctly) our iOS Safari extension. As they're a bit different here are links to the two different approaches.
- Use 1Password to fill and save on your iPhone and iPad.
- Use the 1Password extension to fill in Safari and apps on your iPhone and iPad.
We don't control filling when it comes to iOS 12's AutoFill. We relinquish that control to Apple but as we have a level of faith in Apple (as well as AutoFill being optional) we accept that for the advantages it can bring. We're unable to effect any change in terms of field filled if either a field isn't correctly filled or the site reports an error despite things looking correct. We do control the iOS Safari extension and so if that doesn't work then there is a chance there is something we can do.
Unfortunately iOS Chrome does throw an extra spanner into the works. They don't use our full iOS Safari extension and iOS Chrome insists on performing the actual filling, all our extension is allowed to do is pass over the credentials. In this manner it's a lot like AutoFill where we have no choice but to cede control. Again, any filling issues cannot be rectified by us.
If you're finding a site doesn't like Safari maybe give iOS Firefox a whirl. It allows the full 1Password for iOS Safari extension so filling should in most places be identical to that seen in either 1Password for Mac or Windows as it's the same extension and same filling logic.
Yes, sites that insist the use of any password manager are a pain and we can only hope that eventually they understand that particular security policy is not how to help secure their customers. We can only hope they don't take too long to figure this out.

Do you have any content blockers enabled on iOS?

Ben: I have TWO problems all looming at same time:
1) Using iOS 12.2....When I login into the forum (https://discussions.agilebits.com)**** I DO NOT get the Button that says “New Discussions” ****! It does NOT appear in iOS12.2 on my iPad OR my iPhone (which also is on iOS 12.2).
(HOWEVER on my iMac OS 10.10.5, 1PW 6.8.9, the Forum works OK!!)2) On iOS 12.2 I had BOTH Apple and 1PW activated for Autofill. I JUST changed it to use 1PW ONLY... The San Diego Gas & Electric site is down right now...so Ill try again later...and I’ll report back.
As for content blocker: Yes Malwarebytes on my iOS devices has 2 ... I use the one for “AD Blocking’ only. The other is for “Web Protection” which is OFF. I had to b/c my Humana site would not work properly if that is on (Jeeez!)
AND my anti virus PIA (Private Internet Access) is usually activated.I am REAL concerned about Item ONE above. If I have to always use OSX for 1PW ..that sucks. Most of my Internet day is with iPad or iPhone.

Turned off ALL content blockers
Used https://discussions.agilebits.com/entry/signinITEM 1: STILL NO “BUTTON” I just get a page with list of discussions but no way to start a new one! Both iPhone and IPad fail.
This started with iOS 12.2.... works ok on my iMac (6.8.9)

WOW: with ALL content blockers OFF, I got the New Discussion Button ONCE....then could not repeat!
Now when I first login I get a page listing all the Categories that are covered in Forum.
Then I choose , say, iOS, ...I click on that and get a page full of previous iOS discussions. B U T I NEVER get an iOS page of discussions with the “New Discussions” Button displayed.I turned off ALL content pluckers, told iOS to ONLY use 1PW for Autofill.
Still Fails.I’m stumped & out of options to try.

I'd say the fact that turning off content blockers caused the button to appear seems to be indicative of the problem. In any event, here is the link to start a new discussion:

Ben: That may be true. But why spend money for new security features any to have them blocked? And who is failing because of the blocks...iOS or 1PW?
This started after iOS 12.2. They changed Safari....for example there is now a Safari error (Not safe) appended to some sites . Indicates the use of http , instead of https. Apple jus mucks up sometimes, it seems.

Neither we nor Apple produce a content blocker or choose what criteria 3rd party content blockers use to do their blocking. From your description it sounds like you're using a variety of different blockers from different companies. It'd be hard for us to say which is causing the problem. The best I could suggest would be to do some troubleshooting:
- Turn them all off and make sure the button appears
- Turn them on one at a time until the button disappears
- Whichever the last one you turned on seemingly would be the culprit

Turned ALL off... Button does NOT appear
I only have three content blockers: PIA (1), Malwarebytes (2). On my iMac (OS 10.10.5 and 1PW 6.8.90) they are all on and the Button DOES appear there.
Seems the ver of Safari that 1PW uses is the culprit. Don’t know what to try next.

I am logging in with: https://discussions.agilebits.com It always fails..blockers or not.Still flummoxed

@three-cushion If this is related to this discussion, let's keep the conversation there so we avoid duplicating efforts and we can keep everything tidy in one place.

@three-cushion: We don't have any control over the OS or any 3rd party software you use. I hope you'll be able to sort out your issue viewing websites, but it's not really something we can help you with. It sounds like you're getting the hang of iOS 12 Password Autofill, but if you still have question about 1Password feel free to reply here with the details so we can help. :)
