Vaults not syncing across devices
I bought the 1Password subscription a while back. I have 1Password on my home MacBook, all my iPads, my work computer and another home PC. ROUTINELY, I set up a new login on one device, save it using 1Password on that device, and then when I move to the other device, the new login is NOT saved in 1Password on the other device. Syncing is not happening. What am I doing wrong? If this continues I will be moving to another provider. I bought the 1Password subscription to make this easier, but it is not working.
1Password Version: 7.2.581
Extension Version: Chrome 1.10.4
OS Version: OS and Windows
Sync Type: 1Password account

Hi @pbkennedy,
Thanks for reporting this.
We don't have enough details from your post to understand what's happening. On which original device did you use to save that new item and to which device it didn't pick up the change? What versions of 1Password are installed on both devices?
You shouldn't have to do anything to make it work, that's the case for almost all of our users but some PCs have restrictive network setups that can interfere with 1Password. Do you use a VPN, proxy, or anti-malware solution that's not Windows defender?

Originally saved the new item to Macbook. It didn't pick up the change on my iPad or work PC. iPad version appears to be 7.2. Don't have my Macbook with me, but I recall updating 1Password recently. As mentioned above my Chrome extension is 1.10.4 and the desktop version on my PC is 7.2.581. I couldn't speak to whether there is any proxy here at my office. If there is a proxy and that is a problem, then how did I ever access any of my password information from my work PC in the first place? If it was originally able to 'pull' my password data when first installed, why would it not be able to 'pull' changes made now? Doesn't make sense.

I'm having my IT department at work whitelist 1password. I still don't understand why it didn't sync to the iPad though.

Hi @pbkennedy,
It seems that you are using 1Password X in Chrome on your PC. 1Password X works entirely in your browser, so it doesn't connect to 1Password 7 on your computer in order to display your data.
Am I right to understand that you are able to see your new items in 1Password X, but not in 1Password 7 app? Please confirm.
Thanks! :+1:

I was not able to see them in either 1Password X or 1Password 7 for any device other than the computer (Macbook) on which I created the new item. Why would the Chrome app and the 1Password 7 not have access to the same data in the cloud? What would possibly be the point of having the Chrome extension if it can not stay up-to-date? And vice-versa, if I save a new item while using Chrome, why would I not expect that to be pushed via the cloud to the 1Password 7 apps on computer desktops?

Hi @pbkennedy,
I apologize for the confusion, what Greg was trying to say is that 1Password X and 1Password browser extensions are two separate extensions that works differently and can have different data in specific situations.
The regular 1Password extension does not have a UI or data, it simply connects to the running 1Password desktop process, which brings up the native UI and data, so they can't be out of sync with each other. But you can have 1Password X and the desktop app get out of sync if the desktop app can't connect properly to our service, which is a frequent issue at specific work networks. The browsers are often white-listed by default but unless the company whitelist 1Password, it may not sync properly.
Since both 1Password X and the desktop app are not syncing on the same PC, it is likely a network-related interference.
