Feature request: use a YubiKey on Windows like TouchId on the Mac
I need to do more research to see if this is possible, but it'd be awesome if the Windows app supported using a YubiKey as a key store for the master password (or use a derived key) to unlock my vault. While the threat model is a bit esoteric, it would prevent a key logger from extracting my master password (albeit if there's a keylogger installed, they can just fetch the root secret out of memory, but that takes a little more know-how).
Questions:
1. Is it even worth using the YubiKey for this?
2. Would the number of people using this even make the feature worthwhile to develop and test?

Hi @kop48,
Thanks for writing in.
Anything is worth helping people save time entering their master password and staying secure.
YubiKey is something we're interested in supporting in a future update. However, you can use the built-in Windows Hello support in 1Password to use Yubikey with since Yubikey can integrate with Windows Hello. Here's their guide if you haven't given it a try: https://support.yubico.com/support/solutions/articles/15000006472-using-your-yubikey-with-the-windows-hello-app

Let us know how it turns out, I don't think any one of us on the Windows team have a YubiKey to play with but I'll see if we can request one for testing purposes.

@MikeT - your marketing team has some cross-promotion going on, so I'm sure that you can leverage that relationship ;-)

Yep but we don't want to get free stuff by default like that. I can make a request and see if they'll give us some.
