Resetting Password for Shared Vault

I created a shared vault awhile back. I spent a bit of time choosing all the passwords I need to share with my wife. But now, before I shared the vault with her I have forgotten the password I created. Is there a way to reset, so that I don't have to reconstruct this vault again?

Thanks.

    Hi @jimden,

Unfortunately, you do need to know the password of the secondary vault in order to share it. So, we'll need to export all the data in the secondary vault and import it into another.

    • Just in case, backup your database (File > Backup)
    • Go to File > Export > All Items...
    • Save the .1pif file to your desktop or somewhere memorable
    • Go to 1Password > Create New Vault
    • Customize your vault's details - give it a memorable name, change the colour of the lock and create a new Master Password (and include a good hint!)
    • Use File > Import to import the .1pif file
    • Once all your data is safely imported into this new vault, please be sure to delete the .1pif file, as it is unencrypted. (You can also delete the old vault)
    • Follow the steps here to share a non-primary vault

This should get you all sorted out - please let me know if you run into any snags!
