1Password 3 iPhone to 1Password 4.5 iPad

I'm finally taking the plunge and upgrading 1Password 3.7.2 to 1Password 4.5.

Unfortunately 1Password is currently on my iPhone 3GS so that cannot be upgraded to v4.5. However, I intend to install v4.5 on my iPad 4.

Two questions I have:

  • What is the best way of transferring passwords stored on my 3GS to my iPad 4?
  • Does v3.7.2 sync with v4.5?

    Hello @mppc58‌ and thanks for taking the time to write in! I talked this one of with my colleagues and I believe we have a path that will work for you. Try these steps:

    1. Backup your 3.7.2 data file to your Mac using the steps outlined here: http://help.agilebits.com/1Password_touch/backup.html
    2. Install 1Password 3.7.2 on your iPad 4.
    3. Restore your backed up data file to 3.7.2 on your iPad using the steps at the bottom of the aforementioned link.
    4. Install version 4.5 on your iPad 4 and use the version 3 to version 4 migration to get your data into 1Password 4.
